Introducing - Jo Curry.
Mindful movement has always been pivotal to Jo’s life since she was very young. She began competing in high level National Sports Acrobatics from the age of 11, which led her into the Circus. She successfully completed Cert 3 and 4 in Circus Arts at NICA (National Institute of Circus arts) while in high school and naturally progressed to landing a role with a highly sought after acrobatics and physical theatre company, Gravity and Other Myths. In the recent 5 years (2015-2020) she has toured the world visiting more than 30 countries, and has returned to her hometown in Healesville, Victoria.
During this time Jo began to understand the value and intimate connection between the mind and the body and how valuable this has been for her life. Wanting to deepen this connection, she took her 200 hours of Yoga Teacher Training with world renowned Yogis Dice Ida-klein and Briony Smyth from Los Angeles, USA to become a registered Yoga Teacher.
Moved and inspired, Jo has developed a love for teaching to challenge muscle strength/stability, flexibility, balance and focus through a flow of asanas (poses), with attention on breath to become present and embodied (to be at home in your body).
Jo has an unwavering belief that having a healthy body, mind and spirit, is the foundation for a well-balanced life. Her many years of involvement in movement has also highlighted the value of posture and alignment as the foundation of effective movement, injury prevention and optimal health.
In class she loves to watch as students learn to trust their body’s abilities, overcoming movements and boundaries previously unimaginable to themselves.
She loves to create a sense of community, and with that bring out the lightheartedness of life.
Meet your instructors!

Introducing - Ruby Carland
Ruby has been a yoga practitioner for the past ten years. She came to Yoga as a way to develop a deeper sense of connection with her Self and the environment surrounding. Her own journey and depth of practice continues to grow everyday. The expansive practices of Yoga and Ayurveda (the sister science to Yoga) allow her to live a lifestyle that is embodied and aligned with her true nature.
Ruby completed her Ashtanga and Hatha teacher training at Aranya Yoga Ashram in 2018 in Dharamshala, India. After completing her teacher training Ruby spent the following two years in India travelling, constantly learning and teaching yoga along the way.
During the last two years Ruby has participated in a number of trainings, including Yin Yoga, Ayurveda and Yoga for Women’s Health
Ruby's focus is on traditional, time-tested practices that incorporate Breathe, Movement, Stillness and gentle touch making her classes a physical, mental and emotional practice. Her intention is to share wisdom that is culturally kind and aware, to create the space for my students to go deep and get to know themselves, to guide and support the process of self-discovery.
Ruby teaches a slow flow, incorporating breath focused movement, emphasising peace and calm in body and mind. Holding static shapes for a number of breaths to gain strength and stability throughout you practice.
Ruby also shares a passion of hers, Yin Yoga. Yin is the practice of holding asana (shapes) for an extended time. We are revitalising the fascia, joints, ligaments and connective tissue throughout the body. Yin yoga can help to bring balance and equilibrium to our overly Yang (faster paced) lifestyles.
